Haskers History:

Hasker Architects' pedigree can be traced back to 1947, when Leslie Hasker set up his architects practice in Solihull. He had previously been involved with The Rover Company Ltd, and they have remained important clients of the practice for over 70 years, now as Land Rover.

In 1950, Hasker was joined by Ruthven Hall and the partnership of Hasker & Hall was formed, with offices in Knowle and London. Besides the numerous Rover projects, the firm was commissioned by several other industrial clients, and also designed residential and educational projects. In addition, it had a strong presence in the farming community.

In 1996, Hasker & Hall amalgamated with neighbouring architects practice Barton Fellows Ltd to form Barton Hasker Ltd. Barton Fellows, formed in the 1960s, always had a very varied range of clients. Their portfolio included projects in the leisure industry, education (including several halls of residence) and housing. In addition, the practice designed numerous branch refurbishments for building societies, as well as industrial projects.

Barton Hasker Ltd`s first major project was the award-winning £75m engine manufacturing plant for BMW at Hams Hall, the most advanced facility of it's kind in the world. Together with ongoing Land Rover projects and building society refurbishments, the practice continued with the design of sports clubs, leisure projects, factories and residential developments. It also acted as technical co-ordinators for a major construction firm on several multi-million pound industrial and educational developments, including over 2500 bedrooms for the University of Birmingham.

Throughout the same period, the design of individual houses,  together with numerous house extension projects, remained an important part of the firm`s portfolio,

Hasker Architects Ltd arose  from the 2009 restructuring of Barton Hasker Ltd, as a  reflection of recent changes in management, and is continuing to serve a
wide variety of clients, as it has throughout its long history.
